[ WALKER DATABASE // FINAL MESSAGE ]

We are sorry to announce that Walker Database officially closed on April 22, 2026.

This was not an easy decision.

It was painful, difficult, and something we postponed for a long time — but eventually, it became necessary.

Since the end of the first quarter of 2025, we had increasingly found ourselves dealing with situations within the Walker community that left us frustrated, disappointed, and exhausted.

Over time, it stopped affecting only our motivation to work on the project.

In some cases, it began affecting us outside of it as well.

One of the major turning points was the launch of the “new platform” and the invitation of two members of our team to join the Team Council by Team Alan.

What we experienced from the inside — the way the Council operated and the direction the community was moving in — made us realize that we no longer wanted to follow the same path.

So we slowly began to step away.

Some time later, there were attempts to bring us back through smaller initiatives and, eventually, a proposal to work together with Team Alan on a shared project.

We agreed.

We genuinely hoped it could be a fresh start.

Unfortunately, after only a few weeks, interest in the project began to disappear. Communication became increasingly limited, until it eventually stopped almost entirely.

Later, we discovered that files connected to our shared work had been deleted without any prior notice.

To this day, we have not received an explanation that properly resolved what happened.

Despite that, we were later approached with a proposal for another collaboration — while the previous situation remained unresolved and without an apology.

That was the moment we realized we no longer wanted to continue.

From our perspective, something presented as “support” and an opportunity to give the project greater exposure had started to feel more like an expectation that we hand over the results of work we had spent years creating ourselves.

We could not keep investing our time, energy, and trust into something where we no longer felt those things were being respected.

But we do not want Walker Database to be remembered only for the way it ended.

Because it was never just a website.

It was a project built by friends, and over time, it helped us find even more of them.

Through Walker Database, we met people we probably would never have known otherwise.

Some stayed for a short time.

Others became real friends.

There were ideas, late-night conversations, jokes, unfinished concepts, unexpected projects, and countless hours spent building something we genuinely cared about.

And that is what we want to remember.

Not the number of page views.

Not the number of articles.

Not the number of versions.

The people.

The people we met because of this project.

The people we can now call friends.

To everyone who supported Walker Database over the years — whether you helped us, sent us materials, corrected our mistakes, shared our work, or simply visited the site:

Walker Database is ending.

But what came from it does not disappear with the website.

It was worth it.
